Underfloor
Heating |
 |
The under-floor
heating system installed by Munster Wind Turbines is
the latest in energy efficiency and distributes
an even level of heat throughout the room it is installed in.
It is fitted
with a digital temperature controller that is
set for room temp usually around 20-25 degrees while in use and
set back to 12-16 degrees when not in use.
This means
that the floor is never cold and is ready to
be brought to room temperature with the minimum of energy wasted.

What
does self-regulating mean?
Raychem self-regulating
heating cables automatically adjust their power output to compensate
for temperature changes.
The outer jacket, braid
and inner jacket provide mechanical, chemical and electrical protection...
but the magic happens in the conductive core.
The conductive core is
extruded over the two, parallel conductors. |
|
 |
As
the ambient temperature drops, the core contracts microscopically
and the number of electrical paths through the core increases. More
heat is produced.
Conversely,
as the ambient temperature rises, the core expands and has fewer
electrical paths. Less heat is produced.

how self-regulating works

Heating
cable with insulated board for floors that have no insulating properties
is another solution that Munster wind turbines have to offer to
the many householders that have older houses with no form of insulation
in the floor.
We install
the T2 reflector 6mm to the floor first in the same way a tiller
would tile a floor. The boards are made to take the heating cable
along paths cut out for this purpose and with the aluminium cover
they hold the heat 20% better than if the cable were put down without
them.
They
add to the cost of the floor heating but they work very well as
can be seen in our show room where this type of installation was
recently completed.

The energy-efficient
system
- 20% extra energy
saving through integrated insulation.
- Even and adaptive
heat distribution in floor.
- Flexible interior
design. Thanks to the self-regulating effect, there is no risk
for overheating under carpets, furniture, etc.Automatic self-regulating
output depending on environment (more output in cold zones, less
output in warm zones).
- Long life and maintenance
free.
- The cable can be
installed under any type of floor surfaces, including temperature
sensitive floors, without a risk of overheating.
